About XCHIFI

IEM Design, Development
& Manufacturing

Create audio products for the people you understand best.

Every listening community has its own priorities. Some listeners want powerful bass without losing vocal clarity. Others care most about comfort, accurate monitoring or an appearance that reflects their identity.

XCHIFI connects those needs with acoustic engineering, driver development, industrial design, prototyping and manufacturing support—helping creators and brands move from an idea toward a product that can be evaluated, refined and produced.

Our purpose

What Is XCHIFI?

XCHIFI is an IEM design and development platform led by TINHIFI. It connects enthusiasts, content creators, independent entrepreneurs and audio brands with specialist development and manufacturing resources in China.

Our focus is practical: identify who a product is for, define what it needs to do, and build a development plan around those requirements.

That might mean adapting an existing acoustic framework, exploring a different driver configuration, developing a distinctive housing or planning a private-label earphone project. The starting point is the intended listener—not simply a longer specification sheet.

Specialist knowledge, shared resources

The Expertise Behind the Platform

XCHIFI draws on TINHIFI’s industry relationships to connect projects with driver developers and manufacturers, experienced IEM industrial designers, acoustic engineers and manufacturing partners.

10+IEM production factories
10CNC machining factories
53D printing factories
5Experienced acoustic engineers

These resources support different stages of development, from component selection and enclosure prototypes to acoustic evaluation and production planning. The partners involved depend on each project’s technical requirements, quantity and budget.

From a listening brief to a physical sample

Custom IEM Design Starts With the Listener

Who will use the earphone? What do they listen to? Where will they use it? What should it cost? Answering these questions gives the development team a useful starting point.

Sound & acoustic design

Define the intended tonal balance, select a suitable driver configuration, and evaluate how the drivers, chambers, vents and acoustic damping work together. Explore the fundamentals in our IEM technology guides.

Fit & enclosure design

Develop the housing around comfort, component space, assembly requirements and the desired appearance.

Materials & manufacturing

Compare suitable production methods, including CNC machining and 3D printing, against finish requirements, tolerances and cost.

Prototypes & validation

Use physical samples to evaluate sound, fit and build quality before agreeing on a production specification.

Here, custom IEM design means developing a product for a particular audience or brand. An individually ear-moulded fit is a separate requirement and must be assessed for the project.

Focused audiences, practical production

Small-Batch Earphone Development

A product does not have to appeal to everyone to serve its audience well.

XCHIFI aims to make focused, smaller-volume earphone projects more accessible. Existing acoustic frameworks, compatible components and appropriate prototyping methods can reduce the amount of development required from scratch.

Small-batch manufacturing still needs a realistic commercial plan. Minimum order quantities, tooling costs, sample fees and production schedules depend on the design and manufacturing process. These details are assessed before production commitments are made.

For creators, this means starting with a clear audience and a feasible product—not committing to a large production run before the design has been validated.

The platform we are building

Community-Designed Audio Products

The people who will use a product should have a meaningful role in shaping it.

As the platform develops, communities will be able to contribute preferences, discuss design choices and support promising concepts. Creators can help define the listening experience their audience wants, while engineering and manufacturing partners assess how to deliver it.

Community interest is an important signal. It does not replace acoustic testing, prototype approval or production planning. Projects need both audience support and technical feasibility to move forward.

  1. Define the ideaUnderstand the audience, sound preferences and budget.
  2. Develop the designAssess the acoustic framework, drivers and enclosure.
  3. Validate the sampleEvaluate sound, fit and manufacturing requirements.
  4. Plan productionAgree quantities, costs, funding and delivery terms.

AI-Assisted Design, Supported by Engineering

AI can help turn scattered ideas into a clearer product brief. It can assist with organizing community feedback, exploring visual directions and communicating design options. XCHIFI plans to use these capabilities to make participation easier for people without an engineering background.

Physical performance still has to be established through engineering and testing. A generated image does not prove that a housing will fit its components. A proposed tuning does not establish how a finished earphone will measure or sound.

Our approach brings AI-assisted exploration together with professional development, so that creative ideas can progress toward testable designs.

OEM / ODM Support for Audio Brands

For brands and businesses, XCHIFI provides a starting point for discussing OEM, ODM and private-label earphone projects.

Depending on the selected product and development scope, a project may include branding, appearance, packaging, driver selection, acoustic tuning or a more extensive enclosure and structural design.

The process begins with your target audience, intended price range, estimated quantity and technical priorities. From that brief, the relevant development work, sample requirements and manufacturing options can be assessed.

Start Your IEM Project

You do not need to arrive with a finished engineering drawing. Start with the people you want to serve, the listening experience you want to create and the budget you need to work within.

XCHIFI helps connect that idea with the expertise needed to explore the next step.

Your Community. Your Sound.
